We Grow It!
Whenever possible we use ingredients that we grew ourselves. While we are not certified organic, everything we grow takes place in an organic, sustainable, and pesticide free garden. Depending on availability and the season we will be using some or all of the following.
Basil, Black Raspberries, Blueberries, Garlic, Oregano, Peppers (hot and sweet) Pumpkin, Rhubarb, Rosemary, Squash, Thyme, Tomatoes.
We do our very best to utilize locally-grown ingredients whenever possible, including from Blacksburg Farmers Market vendors themselves. Here’s who we’ve partnered with so far:
Glade Road Growing (garlic)
Greenstar Farm (organic garlic, organic rhubarb)
The Green Market (rosemary, thyme, sage, and oregano plants for fresh herbs)
The Highland Farm (garlic)
We procure the vast majority of our other ingredients from Eats Natural Foods in Blacksburg, too. Many of them are organic or kosher.
It is important to note that many of our products contain potential food allergens. Of course, all our bagels, pretzels, pitas, and most pies contain wheat. Please PLEASE double-check with us at market to avoid unnecessary exposure. We keep ingredient lists on hand.
Our bagels may also contain organic soy (wash used to hold toppings), organic corn (polenta meal to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the oven), and non-gmo canola (oil used to grease the proofing trays). Depending on the flavor, the bagels can also contain tree nuts and dairy.
Our pretzels will also contain organic soy, organic corn, and non-gmo canola. They are also made with dairy (organic butter).
Our pitas contain non-gmo canola.
Ask us what’s in our pies. The flavors will change with the seasons 🙂
